Wahl loaned to AHL's Utica Comets

Boise, ID (11/4/13) ? Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Monday that forward Mitch Wahl has been loaned by the Idaho Steelheads to the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League.The AHL is the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America. Wahl becomes the first ECHL-contracted player to be called up from Idaho to the AHL this season.The 23-year-old Wahl has seven points (one goal, six assists) in six games for the Steelheads thusfar this season, including the primary assist on the game-tying goal in Saturday?s 4-3 shootout win over Ontario. Six of the seven points (one goal, five assists) have come on the power play. In 89 games at the ECHL level, Wahl has 106 points. He?s in his third professional season after playing major-junior hockey for the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League.Idaho?s six-game homestand continues Wednesday night when the rival Alaska Aces come to town. Wednesday is Dollar Beer Night, presented by Bud Light, with small beers costing just one dollar through the second period.Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise.
