Gillespie joins Steelheads staff as Switzer heads to Sochi

Boise, ID (10/19/13) - Thomas Gillespie has joined the hockey staff of the Idaho Steelheads as the team's certified Athletic Trainer after Jason Switzer accepted a job with the United States Ski and Snowboard Association.Switzer, who was Idaho's trainer for four seasons, will serve as the Athletic Trainer for the US Snowboard Slopestyle team at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.Gillespie comes to the Steelheads after spending the past six years working as the Rehabilitation Coordinator at a chiropractic clinic in Tampa, Florida. He recently moved to Boise with his wife. He received his bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from Appalachian State University and his Master's Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology from UNC-Charlotte. He's originally from Decatur, Georgia.Gillespie joins equipment manager Khris Bestel and video assistant Peter Clark on the hockey operations staff with Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph and assistant coach Neil Graham.
