Boise, ID (9/18/13) - The first-ever Idaho Steelheads Free Agent Camp will be held this weekend, September 21-22, at CenturyLink Arena in Boise.More than 50 players will be competing in front of Head Coach Brad Ralph and Assistant Coach Neil Graham in the hopes of earning an invitation to the team's main training camp in Boise, which opens October 6. The players represent 13 states (including 18 players from Idaho), four Canadian provinces, and five countries.The players will be separated into three teams: one coached by former Steelhead enforcer Jeremy Yablonski, one coached by former defenseman Kory Scoran and one coached by Britt Talbert, the team's current public-address announcer and former play-by-play broadcaster.Here's the schedule of scrimmages, all of which are free and open to the public at CenturyLink Arena:- Saturday, 9 AM: Team Yablonski vs. Team Talbert- Saturday, 12:30 PM: Team Scoran vs. Team Yablonski- Saturday, 5 PM: Team Talbert vs. Team Scoran- Sunday, 10 AM: Camp Showcase GameThe Sunday showcase game will consist of players selected from the three teams, condensed down to two teams. Each game will last approximately two hours, giving time for brief intermission breaks for the players and coaches.The Steelheads host their third-annual "Season-Ticket Holder Only" preseason game on October 12 before opening the regular season on October 18 at Utah.The 17th season of professional hockey gets underway at CenturyLink Arena on October 23 when the Idaho Steelheads host the San Francisco Bulls. Season Ticket Packages are available now, starting at just $275 per seat for all 36 home games. Partial-season packages are available as well for fans who want a little more flexibility.
