Boise, ID (2/1/13) ? CenturyLink will host its annual ?Free Skate Day? at CenturyLink Arena in Boise on Sunday, February 24, from 2 ? 4 PM. Patrons who bring a can of food to the free event will receive a pair of tickets to the Idaho Steelheads hockey game on Wednesday, February 27, courtesy of CenturyLink. Tickets are limited to one pair per person. Food donations will be given to the Idaho Food Bank. Fans that have their own skates are encouraged to bring them, though there are a limited number of skates available at CenturyLink Arena to be used on a first-come, first served basis. Idaho Steelheads players will be in attendance along with the team?s mascot, Blue the Bear, and will be available for photos and autographs for fans. ?This is a great opportunity for family and friends to gather and enjoy an afternoon together,? Jim Schmit, President of CenturyLink for Idaho, said. ?We?re pleased to take part in this event and offer the community a unique chance to skate on the home ice of the Steelheads. Supporting the Idaho Food Bank with a food drive during the event is one way that CenturyLink and community can help address the hunger issue faced by folks in our community.?
