Ontario, CA (12/14/12) ? Dan DaSilva, CJ Stretch and Devin Setoguchi each had a goal and an assist as the Ontario Reign pulled away in the third period to defeat the Idaho Steelheads, 6-2, in front of 6,522 fans at Citizen's Business Bank Arena in Ontario. The loss ended Idaho's eight-game unbeaten-in-regulation streak and dropped the Steelheads to 18-6-3 on the season. The teams combined for 31 penalties in the game - 30 of them the two-minute "minor" variety. Ontario converted two early power-play opportunities into goals with Dan DaSilva getting the Reign on the board at 6:45 and Devin Setoguchi added another on the man-advantage at 7:58 for a quick 2-0 lead. Idaho would cut into the lead less than a minute later when Tristan King threaded a beautiful pass from the right-hand wing through the slot to Austin Fyten at the left edge of the crease for his sixth goal of the season at 8:44 to make it 2-1. Justin Dowling also assisted on Fyten's goal, extending his point streak to ten straight games. A Colton Yellow Horn goal midway through the second period made it 3-1 Ontario but, again, Idaho would answer back. Tristan King on the power play snapped a shot past Jean Francois Berube from the high slot, his tenth of the season, at 15:17 to make it 3-2 in favor of Ontario after two periods. Ontario would add three goals in a whistle-filled third period that featured twelve penalties to pull away for the win. When Kyle Kraemer scored at 4:01 of the third to make it 5-2, it was the first time all season Idaho had trailed a game by more than two goals. Tyler Beskorowany took the loss, saving 27 of 33 Ontario shots. Berube picked up the win with 21 saves on 23 shots. Ontario was 3 for 10 on the power play while Idaho was just 1 for 10. Idaho returns to the ice Wednesday night at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, UT, against the Utah Grizzlies. Game time is 7 PM.
