Boise, ID (8/16/12) ?Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Thursday that defensemen Matt Case and Deron Cousens have each agreed to terms with the ECHL?s Idaho Steelheads. Idaho opens training camp on October 1 at CenturyLink Arena in Boise. Case, 26, has played 79 regular-season games with Idaho over the past two seasons after being acquired via trade from Gwinnett in January of 2010. He was voted by his teammates as the co-Defensive Player of the Year last season after registering 12 points (4 goals, 8 assists) in 48 games. The Ferris State product also earned his second trip to the American Hockey League, appearing in nine games for the Texas Stars. Ralph on Case: ?We?re extremely excited to have Matt back this season to anchor our defense. He?s going to be a leader for us, on and off the ice, and log heavy minutes with his hard-nosed style of game.? The 25-year-old Cousens returns to Idaho after being a late-season addition from the Florida Everblades last spring. Cousens joined the team for the final three games of the regular season before skating in each of Idaho?s ten playoff games. In all, he has played in 51 regular-season and eleven post-season games as a pro after competing collegiately at Michigan Tech. Ralph on Cousens: ?Deron is an offensive defenseman who is strong in his own end. He?s a good skater who moves the puck really well. We?ll rely on him in all situations and look for him to add some offense for us from the blue line.? The 16th season of professional hockey in Boise kicks off on Friday, October 12, when the Idaho Steelheads host the Utah Grizzlies at CenturyLink Arena. Season Ticket packages are available now, starting at just $275 per seat for all 36 home games. Partial-season packages start at as little as $150 for fans who want a little more flexibility.
