The ?Rat Pack? congregates in Section 205 of Century Link Arena during Idaho Steelheads Friday home games. However, this ?Rat Pack? isn?t led by budding charisma or smooth vocals. Steelheads forward Kael Mouillierat, known by teammates as ?Rat,? relies more on his play than his words to excite the fan section named after him. ?He?s pretty quiet,? said teammate Michael Neal. ?but he?s a really nice guy once you get to know him and he is a really good player.? After finishing second on the team in scoring with 63 points (25 G, 38 A) as a rookie in 2011, Mouillierat was named an ECHL All Star and was voted to the ECHL All-Rookie team. He earned a team-best plus-10 rating and his 108 penalty minutes ranked him third among Steelheads. Mouillierat said he hopes to continue that success in 2011-12, but with a little bit of a twist. ?I think I?m expected to be a little more of a leader this year and help out the rookies,? Mouillierat said of his second season with Idaho. ?I?m not an old guy yet, but I kind of help out the younger guys and try to lead by example more than anything else.? Mouillierat?s example has been undeniable. In eight games this season, the Edmonton, Alberta native has posted 10 points (4 G, 6 A), including the Steelheads? first goal of the season, a power-play blast in the opening win over Utah and two goals against Las Vegas on Wednesday. ?He sees the ice very well,? Neal said. ?He?s very quick and he?s a hard guy to hit, which makes him very effective.? Mouillierat?s on-ice talents have him 10th in the ECHL in scoring, tallying his 10 points in just eight games. He is looking forward to continued Steelhead success as they journey toward the playoffs and a shot at the Kelly Cup. And he?s bringing the ?Rat Pack? with him. ?I think the ?Rat Pack? is a cool idea,? Mouillierat said. ?I like the name and if it helps get a couple extra fans out there that?s great. ?
