Idaho loans Mouillierat to AHL's Stars

(Boise, ID) ? Head coach and director of hockey operations Hardy Sauter announced Friday morning that the AHL?s Texas Stars have signed Idaho Steelheads forward Kael Mouillierat to a Professional Tryout Agreement (PTO). Mouillierat will be in uniform for the Stars Friday night when the team plays in Houston against the Aeros. It will be his first action at the AHL level, the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America. The 23-year-old Edmonton native was selected to the ECHL All-Star team last month after racking up more than 40 points in the first half of the campaign for Idaho. He?s currently second on the squad in goals (17), assists (27), and points (44) in 44 games this season. He made his professional with the Steelheads last spring after wrapping up his college career at Minnesota State. The move means there are now two players on ECHL contracts with the Steelheads playing with AHL teams ? Mouillierat and Dustin Friesen (Bridgeport Sound Tigers). Idaho is the ECHL developmental affiliate of Texas (AHL) and the Dallas Stars (NHL). The Steelheads return to the ice on Wednesday, February 9, against the Bakersfield Condors at Qwest Arena. It?s a ?Twice the Ice? week, where fans can purchase a ticket for Wednesday?s game for $15 and get a ticket to Saturday night?s game for just $7. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 for more information.
