DeVergilio recalled by AHL's Texas Stars

(Boise, ID) ? When the Idaho Steelheads return to action following the ECHL All Star break, they?ll be without productive forward Kevin DeVergilio. The rookie was recalled by Texas of the American Hockey League on Wednesday. The 23-year-old centerman had been one of Idaho?s most productive scorers since being activated from the injured list, tallying 16 points (9 goals, 7 assists) in 17 games with the Steelheads. He had been especially productive of late, picking up nine points (3 goals, 6 assists) in Idaho?s past five games, including a career-high four-point game at Victoria on January 9. DeVergilio began the regular season with Texas. He had one assist in eight games before being reassigned to Idaho. After a standout career at Saint Lawrence University, DeVergilio made his ECHL debut late last season in Las Vegas before signing an AHL contract with Texas in the offseason. Idaho is the ECHL affiliate of Texas and the NHL?s Dallas Stars. Texas now has five players on its roster who have seen time with Idaho this season: DeVergilio, Trevor Ludwig, Sergei Korostin, Luke Gazdic, and Mathieu Tousignant. Two players currently on Idaho?s roster (Michael Neal and Richard Bachman) have also skated for Texas this season. Idaho returns to action January 22 against Las Vegas in Boise. Tickets are available at the Qwest Arena box office or by calling 208.331.TIXS. Group outings are a great way to get friends, family, co-workers, or colleagues together to enjoy a night out at great savings over walk-up ticket prices.
