For the third straight game, Terrance Sanders showed why he is one of the best players in the arenafootball2 league. Sanders 55 yard missed field goal return for TD gave Boise a 21 point halftime lead and the Burn knock of the Tri-Citied fever 56-21 for their fifth straight win and their record 9th win of the season. Boise started the scoring 10 and a half minutes into the game. Damian Walker?s fumble in the end one was recovered by Marcis Fennel who recorded his first professional touchdown giving Boise the 7-0 lead. 2 minutes later, Levi Madarieta?s team high 7th interception set up a Damian Walker 1 yard TD run and the 14-0 lead after the first quarter. Tri-Cities cut the lead in half 6 minutes into the second quarter. Tomotsuna Inoue connected with Ray Little on a 19 yard TD putting the Fever on the board at 14-7. Both teams would exchange touchdowns with a pair of family members, Jerard Rabb scored his 12th TD of the season on a 4 yard pass from Rudy Carlton and cousin Finas Rabb answered with a 7 yard grab with: 41 seconds left to play in the half. Boise would tack on a pair of TD?s in the final 27 seconds of the second quarter. Walker?s second touchdown of the game broke the franchise record for rushing TD?s with 11 and on the final play of the half Terrance Sanders big return with zero?s on the clock gave Boise the cushion it needed going into the break. The Burn outscored the Fever 21-7 over the final 2 quarters. Alex Guerrero found pay dirt for the first time in his professional career on a 1 yard run, The Rabb cousins each added to their touchdown totals and Damian Walker (Russell Athletic Player of the Game) capped off another stellar night with his 3rd rushing TD of the game giving him 12 on the season as the Burn improve to 3-0 vs. Tri-Cities in 2009 with the 56-21 victory. Boise (9-2) returns home on Saturday June 20th to take on division rival Stockton (4-7) at Qwest Arena. The Burn are 2-0 against the Lightning in 2009 and lead the overall series 6-1. Kick off is at 7:00pm (MT). Game Notes: Damian Walker broke the single season and all time rushing TD records in the win. His 3 scores gives him 12 on the year. Levi Madarieta recorded his team high 7th interception in the first quarter of the win. Tremaine Tyler?s interception in the first quarter was the first of the season for the South Carolina product.
