With a 4-2 record heading into week 8 of the af2 2009 season, Boise Burn Head coach Brent Winter has made some additions to his offensive and defensive lines. Today the team has announced that they have added Defensive lineman Gerard Lee and Offensive lineman Jerrad Simmons to their roster Lee (6?2? 286-Oregon State) began his college career at Scottsdale Community College, where he played 2 years before heading to Corvallis, Oregon where he played for the Oregon State Football team in 2006 and 2007. While with the Beavers, Lee recorded 39 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. He also helped Oregon State to a 19-8 record and a pair of bowl victories during his time on the West Coast. Lee was signed by the Burn in the off-season but was placed on refuse to report after spending the past couple of months trying out with several NFL teams, including the Buffalo Bills and Arizona Cardinals. Simmons (6?5? 335-Tarleton State) played at Tarleton State from 2003-2006, started the final 3 years up front for the Texans and earned first team all conference honors his senior season. Jarred Simmons was acquired in a trade with the Corpus Christi Sharks in exchange for DB Roshawn Marshall. The Boise Burn (4-2) host the Tri-Cities Fever (1-6) tomorrow night at Qwest Arena.
