The Boise Burn and SmartHealth hosted the second annual ?Pink on the Turf? jersey auction on May 2nd to support and promote the 2009 Komen Boise Race for the Cure® and raised $12,000 from the one night event. ?We?re thrilled to support the Susan G. Levi Madarietta?s jersey was bought outright for $1,500, while Nichiren Flowers? sold for $800 and Mark Weivoda?s sold for $500. Fans had a chance to bid on the special edition pink jerseys during the Burn?s May 2 game against the Stockton Lightning at Qwest Arena. The Burn beat the Lightning 68-18.Immediately following the game, Burn players presented the jerseys to the winning bidders on the field. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the jersey auction will go directly to Boise Komen Race for the Cure?.?Pink on the Turf 2009? is the second jersey auction fundraising event for the Boise Burn, who are in their third season of play.
