Bomersback Returns to Idaho from AHL For Game 1

The Idaho Steelheads Hockey Club announced today that one of their leading scorers, Mark Bomersback, has been returned from the Binghamtom Senators of the American Hockey League. Binghamtom was eliminated from the AHL postseason after 6-1 loss to Norfolk on Friday. Steelheads Head Coach Derek Laxdal said Saturday morning that he expects to dress Bomersback for Idaho?s first postseason game versus the Victoria Salmon Kings at Qwest Arena in Boise on Saturday.The 27-year-old Bomersback was called up to Binghamtom on Mar. 9, and in his time there tallied five points (4g-1a) in 13 games played. Bomersback also played nine games with the AHL?s Providence Bruins and two games with the Syracuse Crunch earlier this season.When he left Idaho in March, Bomersback had the second most points on the team (behind Bryan McGregor), having scored 44 points (22g-22a) in 40 games. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound forward, who hails from Rochester, AB, played 35 games for Idaho during the 2007-08 season and tallied 39 points (20g-19a). He also played 21 games for the (now defunct) Iowa Stars of the AHL where he had two goals and five assists.In other transactions:Steelheads captain Marty Flichel has been activated off the Injured Reserve List and will also play in tonight's game.Idaho takes on the Victoria Salmon Kings for Game 1 of the RC Willey Kelly Cup Playoffs Saturday at Qwest Arena in Boise. The puck drops at 7:10 pm.
