The Idaho Steelheads, along with St. Luke?s*Idaho Elks Rehabilitation Services (SLIERS) and the Special Olympics of Idaho, announced today that the team will hold a jersey auction and raffle on Feb. 13 and 14 to benefit pediatric therapy services at SLIERS and the Special Olympics of Idaho. The jersey auction and raffle are presented by SLIERS.The Special Olympics-themed jerseys are dark blue in color. The World Games is represented with a light blue map of the world that wraps from the front to the back. The United States is represented with red and white stripes running under the sleeves and with white stars that cover the shoulders. The Steelheads logo is on the front center, and the Special Olympics of Idaho logo is adorned in gold on the left chest and in light blue on both sleeves. The St. Luke?s*Idaho Elks Rehabilitation Services name and logo is on the lower back of the jersey. The Steelheads will wear the jerseys during the two-game set against the Phoenix RoadRunners. Bids, beginning at $200, will be accepted on players? jerseys at silent auction tables set up on the concourse. A jersey may be bought outright for $1,500. The auction will close as the puck drops on the third period, Saturday night. Winning bidders will be presented the jersey off the players? back immediately following Saturday?s game. Fans can also purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a team-autographed jersey. Tickets for the raffle will be 1 for $5, 5 for $10, or 15 for $20.St. Luke?s*Idaho Elks Rehabilitation Services is part of a not-for-profit health system that is dedicated to meeting the health care needs of the community. SLIERS pediatric therapy services encompasses a wide range of services for children from birth to 18, and are provided regardless of the ability to pay. Whether the service is traditional physical, occupational or speech therapy, medical outreach for youth programs, or a camp for children with special needs, SLIERS provides the same exceptional care to everyone.A portion of the proceeds raised from this year's auction will also help the Special Olympics of Idaho pay for the costs for local athletes to compete in the World Games.?We?re grateful to Idaho Steelheads fans for their past generous support and hope we can count on them again to help some of Idaho's most incredible children,? said Jean Mutchie, Director of Marketing for SLIERS. ?We thank everyone for lending a hand.?This is the third auction the Idaho Steelheads have done in partnership with SLIERS. Last year?s Boise State University-inspired jersey auction raised a record $22,905, and in two years the auctions have raised $34,645 to benefit pediatric programs at SLIERS.
