Boise, Idaho ? The Boise Burn and head Coach Brent Winter announced today that he has added some firepower to the Burn air attack with the signing of a pair of big wide receivers. Former Nevada-Reno WR Nichiren Flowers and Former Arizona Sate Sun Devil Nate Kimbrough have been added to the Burn?s 2009 35 man camp roster. Nichiren Flower?s (6?3? 215) will be entering his second year in the af2. In his rookie campaign, Flowers was impressive when in the lineup. In 12 games with the Coyotes, Flowers caught 75 balls for 955 yards and 20 TD?s. On May 24th 2008, the former Wolfpack receiver had a field day at Qwest Arena, torching the Burn secondary for 134 yards and 2 TD?s while racking up 10 catches leading the Central Valley Coyotes to a 55-50 victory over Boise. ?I am extremely excited about the opportunity to play in Boise. I have a great relationship with coach Winter and I am looking forward to playing and excelling with him. The city of Boise has a great atmosphere, it is a great city to play in and the fans are extremely dedicated to their player and are crazy about their team and I can?t wait to be a part of that.? Flower?s also had some college success in Idaho when playing against Boise State on the blue turf. Although winless against the Broncos, he did have a season high 9 catches for 136 yards in 2005 in Boise and finished with 26 catches for 276 yards in 4 career games vs. BSU. Flowers also led the Wolfpack in receiving yards his junior with 1,126 yards and 6 TD?s. Coach Winter also announced that he has signed former Arizona State Sun Devil Nate Kimbrough to a 2009 contract. In 4 years in Tempe. AZ, Kimbrough (6?1? 200) compiled 37 catches for 498 yards and 2 TD?s. His first score coming on the receiving end of QB Rudy Carpenter?s 1st career TD pass in 2005. Kimbrough?s most successful campaign came in his sophomore year when he caught 15 passes for 235 yards and a score before missing the final 3 games due to a knee injury. Kimbrough and Flowers join Jerard Rabb, Ahmad Harris, Casey Allen and Shadrach Okoebor on the Burn 2009 wide receiver depth chart. Boise opens camp on March 7th and the 2009 regular season begins on Friday, March 27 at Tri-Cities. The Burn will host its West Division rival and defending National Conference Champion Spokane Shock for its home opener on Saturday, Apr. 18 at Qwest Arena. Season tickets are currently on sale.
