Hotshot Diaries: Carmen

Wow what a game this was! The Central Valley Coyotes and the Boise Burn had us dancers on our toes the entire time. We didn?t know what was going to happen next. While waiting in the back for the tunnel to start, we got to wish a very special boy Happy Birthday! He and his friends looked so excited and couldn?t wait for the game to start. When the players joined us in the back, they started playing with the kids and asking them what they wanted to do when they ran out into the tunnel. I remember one player specifically saying, ?You can do whatever you want.? The little boy then started dancing all over the place. He was pretty darn good I must say. Ha ha ha. It was awesome seeing our Boise Burn players interacting with the children like that when usually all we see is their tough side. So, the game started and when Ahmad caught Gill?s pass the first play of the game to score a touchdown, I was thinking, ?Dude, we have this in the bag.? Little did I know, the game would be so close. We busted out our hip-hop dance in the first quarter and goodness was it a blast! It felt awesome to get back on the field after an almost three week break. A few butterflies in my stomach were released again as well. The game was getting so intense that before we knew it we were back on the field for our second dance of the night. We faced the suite side this time, which is my personal favorite because more people seem to be sitting on that side (including my family and friends). It was a new dance that we worked really hard on during practices so we were all pretty nervous. I think it went well though. Halftime came and Boise Burn was in the lead! Whoop whoop! During the break, we did our touch ups, got some water and took a breather while one of our captains dressed down into her costume to dance the second half with us. This would be Bri?s last game so we wanted to make it great! This was her second year on the team and we?re all sad she couldn?t finish out the season due to moving. However, on a good note, our third dance went great! We were getting so pumped up and ready for our Boise Burn to just take the win! Big highlight of the night for me would definitely be in the fourth quarter when my sideline group was cheering and off a missed field goal, Demond Williams caught the ball and started high tailing it our way. Using our sprinting abilities (ha ha) we got off the field as fast as we could! It?s a good thing because?.. TOUCHDOWN! It was awesome!!! Exhausted from cheering, we still had to get out there and perform one last dance. Not only was this Bri?s last and final dance for the Hanigan Hotshots but, it was one she choreographed. Like a little cherry on top! It was a perfect end to our performances of the night. Now we were all anxious to see how our boys would turn out. Touchdowns had been going back and forth and back and forth all night. It was anybody?s game. Sadly at the end, it was not ours and broke our home winning streak, but the girls still think the Boise Burn did an amazing job! Nothing to hold your heads down about boys! Can?t wait until June 7th! Love, Carmen
