The Tri Cities Fever scored 21 points in the first 7:05 of the game and that set the stage as the Fever (4-5) knocked off the Boise Burn 57-46 at the Toyota Center moving a game behind the Burn (5-4) for 2nd in the National Conference West Division. Tali Ena stole the show in the first half completing 10 of 11 passes for 145 yards and 4 TD?s. 1:15 into the game, Ena connected with J.R. Thomas (Schutt Offensive Player of the Game) for a 23 yard TD and the early 7-0 lead. On the ensuing kick off, Nick Hooper kicked off the bar and the ball landed in the hands of nick Denbeigh for the TD and a 14-0 lead. After a defensive stop, Ena found a wide open LaMonte Jones for the 43 yard TD and the 21-0 lead 7:05 into the game. Boise would find the endzone 3:25 later. Royal Gill hit Ahmad Harris on a 15 yard strike making the score 21-6 after the missed P.A.T. Up 28-6 in the second quarter, Ena scored on a 4 yard TD run giving the Fever a comfortable lead with 10:15 left to go in the first half. The burn would score 12 unanswered on an Harris 10 yard TD catch and a Casey Allen 2 yard TD run But Phil Goodman scored with 5 seconds left putting the Fever up 42-18 at the break. The burn would out score Tri-Cities 28-15 in the seond half thanks to 3 more Harris TD catches. Ahmad Harris finished with a game high 152 yards and 5 scores, but it wasn?t enough as the Fever held on to win their 4th game in 5 weeks 57-46. The Burn returns home next Saturday Night (June 7th), for a West Division showdown against the second ranked Spokane Shock. Kick off is at 7:00pm at Qwest Arena.
