Boise Burn and SmartHealth? Raise $12,488 For the 2008 Komen Boise Race For The Cure?

The Boise Burn and SmartHealth Insurance raised $12,488 during a fundraising event called ?Pink on the Turf? on May 3 to support and promote the 2008 Komen Boise Race for the Cure®. During the May 3 game, Boise Burn players wore one-of-a-kind pink uniforms when they beat the Stockton Lightning 77-14 at Qwest Arena. Jerseys were auctioned off at silent auction tables during the game and raffle tickets were sold to win a team-autographed jersey. Bidding started at $150 and jerseys could be bought outright for $1,500. Both George Williams? and Levi Madarieta?s jerseys sold for $1,500, while quarterback Royal Gill?s sold for $700. Several players jerseys sold for $500, including Ahmad Harris, Ernie James, Zach Tune, and Mark Weivoda, and the rest sold for between $300-450.The jerseys were presented to the winning bidder by the player on the field immediately following the game.
