A Texas Copperhead fumble early in the first quarter resulted in a George Williams 4 yard TD run and the Burn would never look back as they handed the Texas Copperheads their 5th straight defeat 41-14 in front of a sell out crowd at Qwest Arena. The Burn jumped out to a 14-0 lead after 15 minutes of play. George Williams (Schutt Offensive Player of the Game) inched closer to the af2 scoring and receiving TD records with a rushing and receiving TD in the first half. Williams started the scoring on a 4 yard TD run with 10:33 left in the first quarter. Williams added a 15 yard TD catch with a minute left in the first and a 2 point conversion. Williams finished with 3 TD (1 rush, 2 rec) to get within 20 points of Magic Benton?s scoring record (1,020) and 6 Receiving TD?s of Benton?s record of 167 career Receiving TD?s. Williams now has 161 career Receiving TD?s. Royal Gill threw for 173 yards 3 TD?s and 2 Interceptions in the win. Casey Allen (Cutter?s Catch of the Game) led all Burn receiver?s with 8 catches for 129 yards and 1 TD Defensively, The Burn were once again led by Terrance Sanders (ADT Defensive Player of the game) who finished with 5.5 tackles and in interception. Demond Williams and Ernie James also picked off Rudy Carlton who finished 14-43 132 yards 1 TD and 3 Interceptions. The Burn (3-1) will host the Stockton Lightning next Saturday Night at Qwest Arena.
